Over the last few months, local businesses have grappled with the effects of the coronavirus outbreak, but businesses are kicking back as we open the summer season. This summer you’ll be able to stock up on all the locally grown fresh produce and foods you need as markets and farms reopen with some changes to safely meet the needs of customers during this time. Keep reading for more details on where to find farmers markets and other local fresh produce vendors for Summer 2020 in Sudbury, ON.

The Sudbury Market

When: Saturdays 8:00 am to 2:00 pm | Thursdays 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Where: York Street Parking Lot, Greater Sudbury, ON

This year both the Saturday and Thursday markets will be held at the York Street parking lot, which allows for ample spacing between vendors to better support safe social distancing practices. The Saturday market will return to Elgin Street as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

All products will be pre-packaged in compliance with health requirement, and vendors will have hand sanitizer available at their stations. Guests will always be asked to maintain a distance of 2 meters (or 6 feet) from other market patrons.

  • Saturday Market – June 13th to October 24th, 2020
  • Thursday Market – June 18th to October 8th, 2020

Triple Star Acre Farm

Where: 2442 Main St, Blezard Valley, ON

About 20 miles north of Greater Sudbury, Triple Star Acre Farm raises quality, natural and healthy meats year-round, plus seasonal produce and deli products. The farm prides itself on its unique approach to farming, which reflect a deep respect for the land and the animals raised on that land. Animals are allowed a full-pasture, free-range lifestyle and are fed a certified non-GMO diet. Quality vegetables are grown from the end of July to the middle of September. The farm even boasts sustainable farming practices that include soil and erosion protection, crop rotation, pest management and very limited spraying to keep the soil as rich.

Where: 3316 St Laurent Street, Chelmsford, ON

Just a hop over from Triple Star Acre Farm, Josephine’s Vegetables is a no-herbicide farm with lots to offer for fresh produce. The farm grows more than 65 different vegetables on site. Also on location, Dinosaur Valley Mini Golf is scheduled to re-open on June 20, 2020.

The farm is currently accepting visitors by appointment, and guests will be kindly asked to follow social distancing guidelines and to wear a mask and gloves.
